Help Us Accomplish our Mission

Volunteering with Shriners Hospital

Shriners - Chicago runs more effectively with the help of about 100 weekly volunteers. We are looking for applications from people with unique talents to help in all facets of hospital operations. We make a commitment to our patients and families that we will provide the best quality care environment, and we are looking for volunteers to help us in this mission.

Volunteer Needs

Our need for volunteers is greatest during normal business hours, Monday – Friday between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. A limited number of opportunities are available between 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on weekdays and very few opportunities are sometimes available on the weekends. Because of the significant testing and training required of volunteers, we need loyal volunteers who can commit to staying with us for at least six months, working one day a week for a few hours each visit.

Shriners Hospitals Alumni Association

Are you a former patient? The parent of a patient or former patient? A former staff member? If so, you are invited to be part of the Chicago Hospital's Alumni Association. Email Kally Schneider for more information.

Young Leadership Team

Are you a young professional?

Shriners Hospitals for Children - Chicago is looking for a variety of young professionals who can assist us in raising public interest and understanding of the work of the hospitals and the benefits of providing the best in medical care to children with challenging disabilities. Shriners is an organization that needs your ideas, energies, and expertise. The Young Leadership Team is a growing group of young professionals who understand the importance of investing in the next generation.

If you have a big heart, some extra time on your hands, and an interest in working with other young professionals like yourself to help secure a better future for kids, contact Kally Schneider.

In-kind donations

Thank you for considering donating to Shriners Hospital. We appreciate your support. Donated items must be new to ensure safety for our patients, who may have compromised immune systems. Donations should not be gift-wrapped, to enable easy distribution to the children.
