Visiting Hours
Daily visiting hours for those other than the patient’s parents or guardians are from 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. These hours are extended only under special conditions. All visitors must check in at the front desk on the first floor to receive a visitor pass.
Family members are welcome to call patients, but please avoid calling after bedtime to minimize disruption of the child’s schedule.
Visitors
One adult parent or guardian may stay overnight. On the day of surgery, parents and close relatives may arrive as early as 6:30 a.m. to be with a child prior to surgery.
For safety reasons, all patients must be supervised in the hospital at all times. If you are leaving your child, please notify hospital staff that you are relinquishing supervision to them. Patients may not leave the hospital without an authorized pass.
Visitors between the ages of 1 and 12 are welcome to visit. Throughout a visit, a parent or a responsible adult visitor must supervise sibling/children visitors. All visitors should be healthy. Visitors who are coughing should ask for a mask or refrain from visiting.
Parking
All family members and other visitors should park in the free parking structure underneath the Spokane Shriners Hospitals for Children® at the 5th Avenue entrance. Wheelchair vehicle spaces are provided on all levels of the parking structure. Oversized vehicles may park in the spaces provided just outside the entrance of the parking garage.
Cafeteria Hours
Weekdays Monday through Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Weekends Saturday and Sunday: Cafeteria closed
On the weekends, inpatients order exactly what they want from the room service menu when they are ready to eat. Family members and visitors are welcome to purchase meals from the room service menu.
Hot lunch served daily: 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m.
Hot dinner served Monday through Friday 4:00 pm to 5:00 p.m.
Safety
Latex
Items containing latex (rubber) are prohibited from the hospital because of severe allergic reactions by some of our patients. Those items include latex balloons (mylar and plastic are allowed), rubber balls, and certain toys and games. If you have questions about an item, please ask before arriving at the hospital.
Smoking
Shriners Hospitals for Children® is a tobacco-free facility. Patients are not permitted to smoke during their stay with us. Tobacco use by
families or guests is restricted to an outdoor smoking area on the first floor garage. Washington law prohibits smoking with in 25 feet of all public entrances.
