Shriners International Awareness Day
June 6, 2009
Shriners International Awareness Day is coming up on June 6, and nobles around the world are encouraged to participate in this exciting opportunity to celebrate the fraternity and recognize the day the Imperial Council was founded – June 6, 1876.
Here are a few ways nobles can participate in Shriners International Awareness Day:
- Wear their fez on Shriners International Awareness Day, when appropriate (during an official Shriners function).
- Show pride in Shriners International by wearing a hat, shirt, lapel pin or other item with the fraternal logo.
- Organize an event at their temple or in their local community. Invite the public to participate in the event to increase awareness about the local temple and Shriners International.
- Contact the Temple Recorder or Public Relations Chairman to order copies of the Shriner Primer. Hand out copies to neighbors, friends, family members and any one else who may be interested in learning more about Shriners International and Shriners Hospitals for Children.
- Contact one of the Shriners Hospitals for Children to schedule a tour. Organize a group tour for local nobles, family members or interested community members.
- Include information about Shriners International Awareness Day on the temple Web site and in the temple calendar, publications and electronic communications. Announce the date at temple and club meetings. Be sure that each and every Noble knows about Shriners International Awareness Day and encourage them to participate.
