Tampa, Fla. – Shriners Hospitals for Children has been selected by NFL Alumni, Inc. to be the beneficiary of their fundraising activities held in conjunction with Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa, Fla.

The NFL Alumni advances its motto of Caring for Kids from its national headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and an additional 28 chapters across the country.

“What has impressed the NFL Alumni since our involvement with Shriners Hospitals for Children is the organization’s compassion and commitment to providing medical care and treatment at no charge to hundreds of thousands of children over the past 86 years,” said NFL Alumni Executive Vice President Martin Lerch.

The NFL Alumni Super Bowl Weekend kicks off Friday, Jan. 30 with its Super Bowl of Golf Showcase at Hunter’s Green Country Club in Tampa. The Don Shula Coach of the Year Award will be presented by legendary coach Don Shula. A limited number of tables are available for purchase through Shriners Hospitals for Children. For $12,500, individuals or corporations may purchase a table of ten, which includes eight available seats and two additional seats for an NFL star and his guest. Past attendees include Don Shula, Peyton Manning, Barry Sanders, Zach Thomas, Bart Starr, Mike Singletary, Jason Taylor and Tony Dorsett.

On Saturday, Jan. 31, the Sporting Clays Team Challenge presented by NRA Sports will be held at Deer Creek Sporting Clays in Land O’Lakes, Fla. Experts and beginners will compete on teams captained by former and current NFL stars.
