On-site and Local Accommodations

Bedside:

We realize that a parent's presence during your child's stay at the hospital is reassuring, therefore, we encourage one parent/guardian to stay at the bedside. We provide a single cot or sleeping chair, bed linens and shower facilities for the comfort and convenience of the staying parent.

Parent Apartments:

On-site accommodations are available to patient families. 

The Parent Accommodation Center (PAC) is a hotel-like building attached to the Inpatient Care Unit . The PAC is available to parents/legal guardians or adult family members of inpatient children. When scheduling, priority is given to parents of surgical patients.

The PAC is a 10 room facility. Due to limited space, you may have to share a room with a family member of another child as we need to accommodate as many families as possible.  Length of stay may be limited to four nights to allow other families to use the rooms, although your stay may be extended past four days if space is available.  The PAC also offers kitchen facilities and complimentary laundry facilities.  The cost of staying in a PAC room is minimal. Transportation

Transportation for patients and their families from outside the Twin Cities area is often organized by local Shriners. For more information about this service, contact your Shriners or the hospital's care coordination office at (612) 596-6130 or (888)293-2832.
