Expert pediatric orthopaedic care at no cost

The Shriners Hospitals for Children-Twin Cities is children's hospital providing high quality pediatric orthopaedic care. Located on the east side of the Mississippi River between Minneapolis and St. Paul, the hospital is a 40-bed facility that combines quality medical care with innovative education and research. The hospital is one of 22 Shriners hospitals operated in the United States, Canada and Mexico by the Shrine fraternity. 


The Shriners Hospitals for Children-Twin Cities provides comprehensive medical, surgical and rehabilitative care for children with orthopaedic conditions, including those listed below.

  • Amputee and prosthetic services
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Dorsal Rhizotomy program
  • Hand disorders
  • Hip disorders
  • Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA)
  • Limb deficiencies
  • Limb length discrepancies
  • Metabolic bone disease
  • Myelodysplasia
  • Neuromuscular disorders
  • Plastic Surgery
  • Scoliosis
  • Skeletal growth abnormalities

Services include diagnostic evaluations such as clinical laboratory services and radiological tests. Through referral arrangements, the hospital provides services such as gait analysis, MRI, CT scan and other diagnostic services. The hospital also has a special care unit, rehabilitation facilities with a hydrotherapy pool and a team of specialty physicians, therapists and care coordinators.

    Recognizing that the family plays a vital role in a child's ability to overcome an illness or injury, Shriners Hospitals helps the family provide the support the child needs by involving the family in all aspects of the child's care and recovery.
