JCAHO Right of Notification of Safety or Quality Concern

Shriners Hospitals for Children in the U.S. are accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). JCAHO standards deal with hospital quality, safety-of-care issues, and the safety of the environment in which care is provided. SHC is committed to meeting JCAHO standards in all these areas. SHC has an open door policy. If you have any questions, comments or concerns about care received at our hospital, please discuss your concerns with the caregiver, department manager, hospital leadership or Sheryl Chewning, Director of Performance Improvement. You are always free to contact JCAHO directly to raise your concerns if they are unresolved by hospital staff. In addition, Shriners Hospitals for Children - Tampa will have an unannounced survey by the JCAHO every three years to assess their compliance to the standards
