Outpatient Clinic Appointments

What Do I Need To Bring?

Click here for information on what to bring to your child's appointment.

How Long Will It Take?

The first visit to Shriners Hospital can last approximately 3 to 4 hours in order for our medical team to provide a thorough evaluation of your child. Please be prepared to spend a few hours in the hospital. Toys for the children are provided in the waiting room, along with magazines and books.

Often, volunteers with the "Humor Cart" are in the waiting room to provide activities and laughter for our patients. Although examination rooms have magazines, chalkboards and some toys, you may also wish to have toys or books of your own to pass the time.

What Happens Next?

You may be given a return appointment to come to one of our specialty clinics.

To Cancel or Reschedule an Appointment

If you need to cancel or change an appointment, please call the outpatient department at (314) 872-7820 as soon as possible. You may leave a voice mail, if necessary.

Illness

If your child is ill or has been exposed to a contagious disease such as chicken pox or head lice, please notify us immediately to reschedule your child’s appointment.
