Foreigner’s Kelly Hansen Visits St. Louis Patients

» Go Back

January 22, 2010

St. Louis patients geared up in the afternoon on Wednesday, Jan. 20, to receive a visit from Foreigner’s lead singer Kelly Hansen.

A popular band in the 80s, Foreigner is still well received today, and they've raised approximately $17,000 for Shriners Hospitals for Children. During his visit to the hospital, Hansen surprised patients, families and staff members by pulling out a check for another $1,000 donation to add to the total.

Hansen proceeded to spend the afternoon signing autographs, posing for photos and even took time to play some air hockey with patient Mia Williams. Williams, who was excited to meet Hansen, asked to have a small inflatable guitar signed.

On Thursday Foreigner played a concert as part of their 2010 tour at Ameristar Casino. During the concert, the band's crew helped raise awareness for Shriners Hospitals for Children by sporting the national logo lapel pins.
