Outpatient Appointments

What Can I Do To Prepare My Child?

Talk to your child about the visit and reassure him/her you will be there the entire time. Tell your child he/she will be weighed and measured and that a doctor will do an exam. Let the child know we sometimes take pictures or x-rays and explain that this is not painful.

How Long Will It Take?

It is difficult to predict how long your child’s visit will last. Please be prepared to spend a few hours in the hospital. If you have time constraints, please let us know and you may need to reschedule your visit.

You are welcome to bring books or activities from home. We also have pagers you can take with you to enjoy time in the children’s play areas upstairs or in the cafeteria.

What Do I Need To Bring?

Illness

If your child is ill or has been exposed to a contagious disease such as chicken pox, please notify us immediately to reschedule your child’s appointment.
