The Joint Commission Right of Notification of Safety or Quality Concern
Shriners Hospitals for Children-Portland is accredited by The Joint Commission (formerly JCAHO) for meeting their standards dealing with organization quality, safety-of-care issues, and the safety of the environment in which care is provided. In addition, the Portland hospital will have an unannounced survey by The Joint Commission every three years to assess their compliance to these standards.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns about care received at the hospital, please contact local hospital management at (503) 241-5090 and request to speak with one of the following individuals:

• Denise Myrick, Director of Performance Improvement
If the issue is not resolved by the hospital, you are free to contact The Joint Commission directly to raise your concerns. The Joint Commission policy forbids accredited organizations from taking retaliatory actions against employees for having reported quality of care concerns to the Joint Commission.
