Orthopaedic Surgery

Each of our orthopaedic surgeons specializes in different areas of the body. Each child with a spinal cord injury will be followed by a spine surgeon because of the increased risk of developing scoliosis (curvature of the spine).

Consultations with other orthopaedic specialists are common, particularly for upper extremity tendon transfer evaluations (evaluation of muscles in the arms) for function restoration. Additionally, lower extremity evaluations may also occur for various reasons such as hip subluxation or dislocation.
