Clinical Research
In an effort to better understand the long-term outcomes of childhood spinal cord injury, we are asking patients to allow us to enter clinical information (for example, level of injury, how the injury occured, muscle strength, etc) into a clinical database. Systematic management of clinical information allows us to better understand the consequence of spinal cord injury in children so that we are able to develop better treatments.
In addition to the database, there are many clinical research studies being conducted that focus on the development of new surgical and rehabilitative tools as well as studies to build evidence in support of existing treatments. Patients are continuously educated about current and future studies, and if they meet inclusion criteria, are invited for participation.
