Information for Patients and Families

Children up to the age of 18 are eligible for care at Shriners Hospitals for Children® if, in the opinion of our physicians, there is a reasonable possibility they can benefit from the specialized services available. Acceptance is based solely on a child’s medical needs. All care and services are provided regardless of the patients' ability to pay.

Visitors to Shriners Hospitals for Children®

Visits from family and friends can make a hospital stay seem shorter and brighten a patient's day. Daily visiting hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Visitors may pick up a pass at the front lobby desk.

Visitor's Regulations

  • All visitors under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
  • Only 2 visitors per patient (excluding parents/legal guardians) are allowed on the patient unit at one time.
  • When two or more visitors are present, we ask that they take turns, using the main lobby or cafeteria between visits. A visiting brother or sister must be accompanied by one parent/legal guardian.
  • Children in hospital are more susceptible to infections, thus a visitor with a cold or infection should wait until the condition has improved before visiting.
  • Visitors who are disorderly or who do not observe hospital regulations will be escorted from the hospital by a security guard and refused subsequent visiting privileges.
  • Alcoholic beverages, weapons, or illegal drugs are not permitted. Any visitor who brings these items to the hospital will be escorted out by a security guard and may be refused subsequent visiting privileges.

Parent and Guardian Visitors

One parent or guardian may stay 24 hours per day. Parents staying overnight must first check with the nursing division or care coordination/family services if staying in parent housing.

Parking at our facility

Parking in our garage is free for patients and their immediate family. The first level of the garage is reserved for patients and their families. All other visitors may park on levels two through six and there is a fee of $1 (if you need to leave and return the same day, another parking fee of $1 is charged).

Patients should not be dropped off at the lobby driveway unless accompanied by an adult.
