Soman Sen, M.D., Joins Shriners Hospitals for Children Burn TeamOctober 6, 2009 Soman Sen, M.D., has joined the department of burn surgery at Shriners Hospitals for Children— Northern California. Board certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Sen completed fellowships in surgical critical care and burn surgery at the University of California. In addition to his role at Shriners Hospitals for Children, Dr. Sen is an assistant professor of surgery at UC Davis School of Medicine. Dr. Sen graduated from The Chicago Medical School/Rosalind Franklin School of Medicine, and completed his surgical residency at Loyola University Medical Center. He also completed a fellowship as a National Institute of Health Trauma Training Research Fellow at the Burn Shock Trauma Institute at Loyala University Medical Center. Dr. Sen has been published in the Journal of Burn Care and Research, the Journal of Trauma, and in the Textbook of Critical Care. He has presented to the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Leukocyte Biology, and the American Burn Association. As part of the burn surgery team, Dr. Sen will provide acute and rehabilitative care to children with burn injuries. Shriners Hospitals for Children— Northern California, located in Sacramento, is the largest pediatric burn center in California and serves children throughout the Western United States, Canada and Mexico. |
