KTXL FOX 40 and Make the Difference Network Help Shriners HospitalJanuary 19, 2009 Staying in a hospital is never “fun,” but television can provide a welcome diversion and comfort for kids recovering in the hospital. The Change for Kids program, sponsored by KTXL FOX 40, will ensure the entertainment and education offered through television continues for the kids at Shriners Hospital for Children — Northern California. The goal is to raise $6,000 to cover the cost of purchasing and installing digital conversion boxes to each hospital bedside. The switch to digital broadcast is a government mandate. After February 19, 2009, analog televisions will require the digital conversion boxes to continue to receive broadcast signals. The hospital currently relies on an antenna system to receive broadcast signals for six channels. Our friends at Make the Difference Network are featuring the Change for Kids program on their Web site and will be accepting donations for the project. Please visit www.mtdn.com/shrinershospitals to make a donation. For more information about the program, visit www.fox40.com/pages/change_for_kids.
