We know that a parent's presence is very reasuring to a child, and we encourage one parent or guardian to stay at the bedside. The hospital provides a reclining chair or cot, linens and shower facilities for the convenience of the parent staying. Rooms are available in the hospital's parent housing wing for a parent or guardian who wishes to stay overnight with their child. Advance reservations are required. Please contact the care coordination office at (814) 875-8700 or (800) 873-KIDS for reservations. Local Accommodations: Several nearby hotels/motels offer special rates to Shriners Hospitals patients and their families. Please contact the care coordination office for more information. TransportationTransportation to and from the hospital is often provided by volunteer drivers from the local Shrine Centers and Shrine Clubs affiliated with the Erie Shriners Hospital. These caring individuals provide rides to and from the patient's homes, local airports, bus depots and train stations. This service is available anytime the patient needs to come to the hospital for an appointment, but arrangements must be made in advance.
