Shriners Hospitals for Children in Cincinnati is a tobacco-free campus.

Rooming-in

Whenever possible, parents are encouraged to room-in with their child. Most patient rooms can accommodate two family members staying in the room with the patient. There are built-in beds for family members and additional rollaways are available.

Family Care Unit

Family care rooms are offered to families who have children in the ICU/critical care unit and are unable to room-in for medical reasons. These six hotel-like rooms on the second floor of the hospital offer family housing right on the premises. Each room is equipped with a small refrigerator, TV and private bath facilities.

Parent House

In addition to the housing offered within the hospital, there is a nine bedroom parent house with a shared kitchen, living and dining rooms. The home is about two blocks from the hospital. In this home-away-from-home, parents and other family members remain close to the hospital without staying in a hotel. Laundry facilities are available. Security staff provides a scheduled shuttle to and from the parent house and the hospital.

Transportation to Cincinnati Shriners Hospital

The Cincinnati hospital serves patients from more than 22 states. There is a transportation system in place with each local Shriners group, from Florida to Michigan.

In the case of a newly injured child, the charge nurse, in conjunction with our transport team and the referring hospital, will make all necessary arrangements to get the child to our hospital as soon as possible.

For a child not needing immediate admission to the hospital, our staff will work with local Shriners who can often assist with transportation to and from the Cincinnati hospital.
